Blue Is . . .

Author's Note - Blue Is. . . was inspired simply by something that I was thinking. Colors are one thing that everyone has opinions on so I thought, "Why not write about a color?" Blue was choosen as this color because it really is a color that I enjoy, as well as many other people. There is something in the color blue that makes most all of us calm and in a happy place.

Blue is a color of nature, a color that takes over the deep waters of the sea, a color that so gracefully conquers the sky. It is a color that we all know, one that a child learns to name first. But most of all it seems that blue is the color within, constantly giving us hope, and steadily calming us down throughout our long lives.
In many cultures, blue is a color that is said to bring peace, importance to religions, and it is even believed that the color keeps bad spirits away. But it is not what we believe about the color that makes it so fascinating, it is what the color makes us believe about it. From light blue to dark, blue is a color that dates back into history, and is a true symbol of trust, love, fidelity, and purity.
The expression "true blue" came from the early Israelites who believed that the color blue was a symbol of love, fidelity, and purity. To them it was also a color in the sky that assured resistance from storms. Another group the Navaho, believed that blue created the dawn since at dawn each day, the sky is a dark, beautiful blue.
A human is someone that wants to have their own mind, the freedom of speech, and to be able to see what everyone else can see in the simplest of things. It is color that makes us able to describe many things so specifically. Blue is a color that most people enjoy, that a lot of people refer to as their "favorite color", and the color blue is so much more. Colors have their place in the world for many reasons, and it is blue that will always bring out happiness and sometimes even sadness in people. What do you believe about the color blue?

  2. That was a very nice piece. I agree that blue does bring out emotions based on the type of blue. Also I thought the Wordle went along great with the writing.

  11. KNow what I like about this post? How it's like an essay and a poem combined. To answer your question, I think blue is THE LIFE GIVER. Blue is awesome, especially light blue.

  15. I love this Alyssa!I especially like that you had a question at the end, so that it allows the reader to interpret what they want out of the blue story. It would be cool if you did the whole rainbow the same way a compiled them somehow, so that you had all of the colors to compare ideas, actually I might do that to, but since i commented on it, you can do it also, itit's not copyright. I like teal-blue the most, what kind of blue were you talking about?

  19. I know I already posted, but i love this piece. Sometimes it feels good to write our opinions. Colors are so cool though becasue no color is exactly the same. Two colors may have the same feeling but they don't make you feel the same.
